Roznama II
26 October - 16 November 2013
Medrar for Contemporary Art, Cairo
Roznama is an exhibition of works by upcoming Egyptian artists. Medrar curated the first edition in 2006, when it invited artists to reflect through video art and photography on social and political events in the country. This theme, which also guides Roznama II, is inspired by the exhibition title. In Urdu, Roznama refers to daily occurrences: a collection of days, weeks, and months of human life. In the second edition of this group exhibition, Roznama attempts to present a selection of works across different mediums that are concerned with the socio-political realities and events shaping the present moment.
Participating artists: Ahmed Badry, Ahmed Elshaer, Ahmed Sabry, Asmaa Elkolaly, Kareem Osman, Mahmoud Hallwy, Marwa Elshazly, Mena Elshazly, and Wessam Quraish.
